New To Dog Training? Consider This Advice!

It can sometimes be frustrating to train a dog, particularly at first. This article will provide you with some valuable advice to make training your dog a little easier.

Crate train your puppy in small steps, so that the training is most effective. First, put them inside with the door still open. When they get used to that, close the gate and give them a treat they like. At first, only close the gate for a short time, then gradually extend the time as your dog becomes more comfortable. If they start to fuss, you are going too fast.

When corrected your dog verbally, make sure to use sharp, concise wording. It’s not good to rant about how bad your dog is. Just say no, then show it what to do instead. It is also important to have good volume to your commands so that your dog understands that you are serious.

Reinforce calm behavior upon your arrival. It is nice to calmly play with your dogs, but remember to stay relaxed. When you ignore the dog on entry, they shouldn’t bother you about playing.

You have to be consistent with the crate training of your new puppy. When you let the puppy out of his crate you must immediately and unfailingly allow him the opportunity to relieve himself. Eventually, they will wait until it’s the right time to go to the bathroom.

Do not tie up your dogs too closely. The chain of one dog could become wrapped around the other and, as the dogs struggle to free themselves, one or both could be injured. If a large dog becomes tangled with a smaller one they could wrap up to the point the airway of the latter is closed off and the dog would die.

Use the tips you just read and your dog will soon become a lot easier to manage and become easier to live with. Get started today, and you will soon be reaping the rewards.
